Have a healthier happier dog by registering for Pet First Aid, February 17 and 18, 2012

Prepare for an emergency by taking a Pet First Aid class. Dogs and cats can't tell you what's wrong, they have teeth that they're not scared to use, and, if you call, an ambulance won't come. The more prevention you can practice, and the more prepared you can be for emergency, the better.

Next Class

Friday, February 17th 6-9:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 18th 1-8 p.m.

At the Regina Humane Society

$125 Tuition plus GST

Register by calling RHS at 543-6363 ext 221 (VISA/MasterCard/American Express/Debit).

Darkness fell

January 18th, 2012, HappyPetBoarding.ca went dark to raise awareness of two United States bills in congress: H.R.3261 "Stop Online Piracy Act" and S.968 "PROTECT IP", which will impact the Internet. If the USA passes these bills, it's likely that Canada will follow.

While their goal to protect copyright is admirable, their approach will quash innovation and threaten the existence of websites with user-submitted content - comments, uploaded videos, etc. This would negatively impact small businesses who rely on the internet for their business.

Please learn about these bills:

When I'm all big

Friends of mine once gave me a birthday card with that saying on it. I guess it fits perfectly, because that's me with my first-ever dog King. He was my first very best friend ever.

In memory of Daisy - February 14, 2001-September 15, 2011

It's a very sad time for us. Our beloved Daisy passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. We're heartbroken. She had a perfect doggie day - extra long morning snuggles, a nice noon brushing, yummy snacks (her favourite), and quality time in her very own play yard. Daisy was the inspiration for how we run our kennel. We miss our little sweet pea so much.

Thank you to everyone for your understanding and very kind words.

It's back to school - register now for a Pet First Aid class November 4 and 5th, 2011

Prepare for an emergency by taking a Pet First Aid class. Dogs and cats can't tell you what's wrong, they have teeth that they're not scared to use, and, if you call, an ambulance won't come. The more prevention you can practice, and the more prepared you can be for emergency, the better.

There are other pet first aid classes, but none as good as the Walks 'N' Wags class.

  • It's Canada's leading and most comprehensive course - a full 10 hours.
  • The course is constantly updated with the latest research and thinking in disease and accident prevention.
  • You practice on a mannequin and your own pet - imagine spending the weekend with your pet by your side.
  • It's the only course recognized and accepted for continuing education credits for Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) and International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants (IIABC).
  • Animal Wellness Magazine, the leading North American health and lifestyle magazine for pets, named the Walks 'N' Wags Pet First Aid course as their June/July 2011 product pick.

The course is taught by Louise Yates from K-Lane Kennels. Teaching since 2002, She's Saskatchewan's first and most experienced instructor.

The course is hosted at and supports the Regina Humane Society.

More details about the class are available online. If you've been thinking about taking a class like this, now's the time to register. Space is limited.

  • 2011 - Friday, November 4th 6-9:30 p.m. and Saturday, November 5th 1-8 p.m.
  • At the Regina Humane Society on Armour Road
  • $125 per person plus GST - register by calling RHS at 543-6363, extension 221.
