Living Sky Honey - Made by Bees at K-Lane Kennels
They did it! Our lady-bees made honey!
We're so very excited - our honey bee experiment is a success. Our lady bees have been busy bees all summer long. We harvested and packaged mother nature's finest tasting, most glorious fresh honey.
Watching bees travel across our prairie fields is the ultimate living sky experience, so our honey is aptly named Living Sky Honey.
Our 2018 harvest is done and a limited quantity of fresh liquid and creamed honey is now available.
If you've never tasted fresh raw honey, you're missing out. In the same way that canned tomatoes cannot compare with fresh garden tomatoes, unpasteurized, local honey, straight from the hive is a sensory experience.
Why buy our honey?
Our “terroir” is unique. We’ve been planting pollinator-friendly plants on our property since 2002, and that creates a unique flavour profile for our honey.
Ours is artisan honey produced and hand packaged on a very small scale.
Our extraction facility is CFIA registered and inspected to comply with federal Honey Regulations.
We have a solar farm. Although all honey is environmentally friendly, with local honey being the most environmentally friendly sweetening option, our honey is the most environmentally friendly of them all.
And, harvesting honey is a lot like harvesting zucchini – all or nothing, so we've got extra for sale.
Our honey is available at the Kronau Convenience Store and for our customers at our kennel and when Dan is picking up or delivering your dog. If you and your family, friends or co-workers want to get together to place an order of 10 kg or more, we'll deliver to your home or office - e-mail us and we can set up at time that works for both of us. For single item purchases, if you’re willing to meet us at a location when we’re already in Regina, e-mail us and we can figure out a time.
For 2018, we have the following flavour options:
July - whitest of white, slightly moister, floral sources include more spring orchard
August - white, thicker, floral sources include more field crops and wildflowers
September - golden, floral sources include more borage, zinnias and buttery sunflowers
Raw liquid and creamed are available (no creamed for July).
